One of the most highly regarded Chinese-language films of the past year, Blind Massage offers a tender and realistic look at the lives of a group of blind masseurs. Operated by the reserved Zhang Zongqi (Wang Zhihua) and the extroverted Sha Fuming (Qin Hao, Mystery), the Sha Zongqi Massage Center in Nanjing is home to a diverse group of blind and partially blind masseurs. There's Xiao Ma (Huang Xuan), a young man driven by his raging hormones who lost his sight in a car accident during his childhood. There's Du Hong (Mei Ting), a proud woman who's annoyed by clients who praise her for her physical beauty. There's also Sha's old friend Dr. Wang (Guo Xiaodong) and his girlfriend Xiao Kong (Zhang Lei), who face familial opposition and problems with unsavory figures. Together, this makeshift community must navigate through life while contending with each member's unique difficulties.
